Kinja'd!!!

He was actually riding a Harley

He rode off on a motorcycle with no helmet. I can hardly believe that we had a helmet law in Michigan but got rid of it.

Kinja'd!!!

Also this week a silver Bentley Continental cutting people off severely to cut in lines on Southfield Road in Dearborn Michigan and on Fort Street in Riverview. No signal or anything. People had to slam on there breaks to avoid hitting him. Line cutters really bother me in general because I don’t think anyone’s time is more valuable than anyone else’s.

That’s like seeing your doctor smoking.

Exactly, he has to know what could happen. I just don’t get it.

The only requirement here is eye protection. Even cyclists hardly wear a helmet. It blows my mind.

My EMT buddy hates motorcycles with a passion, that is surprising

Anything else you want to force people to do?

As long as he can pay for his decision all on his own. For the rest of his life as ,”Frank”, being turned every 2 hours so he doesn’t stick to bed. Having tubes running out of every hole in his body except his nose.

That guy was using taxpayer money. I want to have a say in how it’s spent.

Maybe he can be sorta a treat for prisoners. Pay off his debt by keeping them limp and stress free.

I’m a bit late here, but just wanted to add my personal story of when I first started riding. I was going down some straight and low traffic roads near my house when I decided to open up the bike a bit. I got to about 65mph when I smacked a bumblebee. It looked and felt like I got shot in the dead center of my visor with a paintball gun. It was really, really annoying. But notice how I didn’t say deadly or painful. I pulled over, grabbed some glass wipes from my bag and cleaned my helmet off.

I can’t possibly imagine traveling without facial and head protection now. THat bee was all it took to cement in my mind how helpful and efficient a helmet was at keeping me riding.

I was on the highway going 70-80 when a dragonfly (I think) wanted to let me know what it ate that morning. I could see it ~50 feet ahead when my eyes locked onto it until it kamakazi ’d me right b/w the eyes (of the visor). Its guts put a nice gash in my new visor and I was pissed but still felt lucky it could’ve put a hole in my face if I was stupid enough to ride w/o a helmet.
